My Master Gardener tells me that I'm the only person she knows who says, "Doll-yuhs." She says, "Dowl-yuhs." I asked our friend Kevin from Yorkshire which way he pronounced the flower name. He said, "Day-leahs."Well, whichever way you say it, it still doesn't smell like a rose, but it is a dramatic bloom. I couldn't resist these two on N 51st St. today.
